It is an annual rite of passage for those who suffer from seasonal allergies: sinuses so blocked it is difficult to breathe, a recurring headache, a feeling of constant "pressure" in the face.
Endonasal Balloon Therapy has been available for over 30 years, but is becoming more popular today due to many surgeries proving unsuccessful. Dr. Schneider has continued to develop this method of Endonasal Balloon Therapy which opens sinus cavities the same way doctors open clogged arteries when they do a balloon angioplasty. He utilies an FDA approved Activator instrument to balance the skull and sinuses with the neck following a balloon therapy which makes this procedure more comprehensive in its approach. With the patient, Dr. Schneider threads a tiny balloon into the nostrils and up to the blockage. He then inflates the balloon about a half of an inch -- just enough to open the passageway. The balloon is then deflated and withdrawn. He then works with the skull bones and neck to realign the balance between the two.
After several applications, the sinus openings become significantly wider. In most cases, they stay that way, because the balloon and cranial therapy has actually moved the bones and spread them apart -- all without pain! Special cranial Activator adjustments are made to move the sinus bones so normal skull and sinus movement is restored.
In many cass, Endonasal Balloon Therapy appears to be more effective than convential surgery. There are no incisions or cutting. No risks of cutting nerves in the face. There's no bruising or swelling, just soreness in the sinus bones which will go away when normal functino is restored.
